Frank T. Crockett, MD
Internal Medicine

Frank T. Crockett, M.D. has been caring for patients at West Main Medical Center since he completed his internship and residency at Carraway Medical Center in Birmingham, Alabama in 1983.

Dr. Crockett attended the University of Alabama School of Medicine where he earned his medical degree in 1980.  He has held various past leadership positions such as President of the Houston County Medical Society, Chief of Staff at Flowers Hospital and Chief of Internal Medicine at Southeast Alabama Medical Center.

John C. Wessner, MD
Internal Medicine

Dr. John Wessner graduated college from the University of Illinois with high honors and then attended the University of Illinois College of Medical where he received his medical degree.  He completed his internship and residency in Internal Medicine at the University of Florida.

Dr. Wessner is a specialist in Internal Medicine.  He has been a self-employed physician since 1985 and has been practicing internal medicine at West Main Medical Center since 2003.

Steven D. Harris, MD
Otolaryngology

Dr. Steven D. Harris is a Board-Certified Otolaryngologist with over 35 years of experience in Otolaryngology.  Dr. Harris started his college education at University of Southern Mississippi and graduated from William Carey College in Hattiesburg where he earned multiple degrees in Chemistry and Biology.  He continued his education at the University of Mississippi School of Medicine where he received his medical degree in 1981.

Dr. Harris spent his residency at University of Alabama Hospitals in Birmingham.  He was a first year resident in General Surgery and then spent the next four years of his residency in Otolaryngology, two of those years as Chief Resident in Otolaryngology and Administrative Chief.

Dr. Harris is a proud United States Military Veteran having served in the United States Air Force as Staff Otolaryngologist for three years, Flight Surgeon with the 55th Air Rescue and Recovery Squadron, (9th Special Operations) and was recalled to active duty in support of Operation Desert Storm.  While in the U.S.A.F., Dr. Harris was awarded the Air Force Meritorious Service Medical and was honorably discharged as Major, U.S.A.F. Reserve in 1994.

Since 1989, Dr. Harris has specialized in Otolaryngology at several private practices.  In 2006, he completed the Balance Evaluation and Therapy Course at Cleveland Clinic, a leading educator in this field.  Since then, Dr. Harris has limited his practice to clinic based medical ENT practice, with special interest in hearing and balance evaluation and treatment and maintains close relationships with NeuroOtologists in the region.  Dr. Harris has been practicing Otolaryngology and providing balance testing to patients at West Main Medical Center since November 2016.

MaryLynn W. Parker, MD
Family Medicine

MaryLynn Wells Parker, M.D. is a Family Practice Physician who has been practicing at West Main Medical Center since 1996.

Dr. Parker earned dual degrees at Birmingham-Southern College, a Bachelor of Science in Biology and a Bachelor of Arts in English, in May of 1988.  During her undergraduate studies she received numerous awards and honors.  She was a member of Phi Beta Kappa, Magna Cum Laude, Omicron Delta Kappa, Mortar Board and listed among Who's Who Among Students in American Universities and Colleges.  She also held a number of leadership positions in student organizations such as Beta Beta Beta, Phi Eta Sigma and Alpha lambda Delta.

 

Dr. Parker completed her medical degree at the University of Alabama School of Medicine where she was awarded a Lupton Fellowship and spent her internship and residency at Medical Center East Family Practice Residency.

J. Wes Nelson, MD, PhD
Family Medicine

J. Wes Nelson, M.D. is a Family Practice Physician who joined the  West Main Medical Center medical team in 2003.

Dr. Nelson graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Biology with Highest Honor from Auburn University.  After graduating from Auburn University, he continued his studies at the University of South Alabama in Mobile where he earned a Bachelor of Science in Biomedical Sciences.  Dr. Nelson then went to studay at the University of South Alabama College of Medicine where he received his PhD in Basic Medical Sciences in the Department of Structural and Cellular Biology and then a medical degree.  He also completed his family practice residency at the University of Alabama School of Medicine.

During his academic career, Dr. Nelson earned many honors and awards such as the Alumni Scholarship from Auburn University, Phi Kappa Phi National Honorary, Mendenhall Scholarship Award from the University of South Alabama College of Medicine and the Alabama Academy of Science Student Research Award in 1990.

Dr. Nelson has been providing family medicine to patients in the Dothan area since 1997.  He treats patients of all ages.
